How Do I Use ClayFace?

  1. Place a tablespoon of clay in a ceramic bowl add a teaspoon of distilled water and let sit until the water is absorbed, mix well. Add more water if needed to make a smooth paste. You can add a little more water or a little more ClayFace, if the consistency doesn’t seem like it will easily spread on your face.
  2. Apply the mask evenly on your face avoiding the delicate skin around your eyes and lips, also spread it down your neck, décolletage and breasts, leave on for about 10 minutes. As the mask works, it may feel tight on the skin, which can sometimes feel a little itchy (if you start to feel uncomfortable, wash the mask off) Never let it dry out completely.
  3. Rinse off with lukewarm water & pat dry. Follow with a natural toning lotion to close your opened pores and prevent further loss of moisture and microbial invasion of the opened pores. Then use a natural facial skin moisturiser that complements your skin type.

** Remove mask before it completely dries out.

Can I add natural ingredients to my ClayFace mask?

YES!! To further enhance your mask you can add natural ingredients like – Herbal Tea, Aloe Vera, Yogurt, Honey, Avocado or Carrier Oils – you may prefer to blend these in a mixer before adding to ClayFace, then follow with distilled water if further moisture is needed.

How Often Should I Use ClayFace?

Apply ClayFace mask once a week and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes, no longer. You will notice a great improvement in your skin!

Can I Be Allergic to ClayFace Masks?

You may have a reaction after you rinse ClayFace off, your skin may look a little pink. This happens because the clay increases blood flow to your face as it pulls out toxins.

We recommend you spot test the mask on the underside of your wrist to make sure that you do not have any adverse reactions. Please avoid eye area and discontinue use if irritation develops. ClayFace is for cosmetic & external use only

Do I Leave My ClayFace Mask To Dry On My Skin?

NO !! Please don’t wait for it to reach the flaky stage before you start rinsing. Do the touch test: When you start to see it drying (which usually means it gets lighter in color) but it still feels a bit sticky, it’s time to wash it off so it doesn’t suck the life out of your skin.

Why Use Clay Face Masks?

Put simply, clay is a topical detoxifying, rejuvenating, and strengthening agent. It extracts toxins and impurities from the skin while delivering much needed minerals to maintain a smooth and fresh-looking skin, they tighten the skin, help with inflammation and minimise pores.

Why exfoliate?

Over time, dry and dead skin accumulates on the surface of your skin. Exfoliation is the process of removing that top layer of skin to reveal the newer, fresher skin that lies just beneath. ClayFace masks are created to make your skin look and feel brighter, softer and glowing after each use.

What is French Clay?

French clay comes in many colors depending on the depth of the earth where it is taken – green, red, pink, yellow and white. It is supple and pliable when mixed with water. What Colour Clay Should I Use?

Picking the appropriate clay colour depends on our skin type and what we want for our skin.

Green clay has strong drawing power. It is indicated for purification and detoxification. It gets rid of impurities and stimulates good circulation. It is high in magnesium and is perfect for congested skin, acne, cellulite, sprains, cuts, infections and excessive sweating.

For very sensitive skin especially children and animals, go for yellow clay. Its gentle healing and deep cleansing actions makes it a primary choice for eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, nappy rash, cradle cap, etc. It is high in magnesium, silica and iron oxide, good for acne and ulcers.

White clay is very high in silica and nourishes, moisturizes and balances combination skin. Top choice for dry skin and indicated for psoriasis and dermatitis. It is excellent as a hair pack for oily scalp problems. It may be mixed with coconut oil as hair pack.

Red clay is for regenerating tissue and skin structure. It is high in iron oxide and is good for cell renewal. For strengthening and firming the skin, for sun-damaged skin and to reduce broken capillaries, varicose veins, stretch marks, bruises and burns.

Pink clay is for cell renewal, skin rejuvenation and improving elasticity. It is very good for mature skin, bust firming, broken capillaries, and puffy dark circles under the eyes. It is high in iron oxide and silica and helps to regenerate connective tissues.

You only need purified water in mixing clay. However you can add other pure ingredients like rosewater, witch hazel, coconut oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, geranium, etc.

What Are The Phases Of A Clay Mask?

There are three phases of a clay mask

  1. There’s the damp phase where your skin drinks in the beneficial minerals from the outside.
  2. Then you have the start of the dry phase, which exercises your capillaries and stimulates blood flow as the mask cools and contracts.
  3. But then there’s the dry phase, which draws out moisture from the surface of your skin, causing dehydration and irritation.” Not only does skin then feel dry, tight, and sometimes itchy, but when you counteract it by slathering on extra face cream, you’re just smothering your freshly cleansed skin.

You should never let a clay mask dry fully.

Can I Use Clay In My Bath?

YES!! We actually make a bath soak using the finest ingredients. Stay tuned for the launch date!

Clay is one of the most detoxing substances on earth. It’s perfect for a full body detox on those days when you just feel heavy, have brain fog or you feel just plain “blah”.

Clay has a special affinity for attracting nasty toxins and detoxing the body. It does this by pulling toxins INSIDE the clay molecule itself… the clay literally eats toxins! This is because toxins have a positive charge while clay has a negative charge. The opposites attract and the toxins are “eaten” by the clay molecules. You can even witness this attraction happen when clumps of clay stick to your skin while you’re having a clay bath soak. The concentrations of clay, or clumps, indicate areas where toxins are being released. The clay is being attracted to it. This will usually stop after a good 20 minutes. If they don’t come off by then, you might want to take another clay bath in the near future to finish detoxing.
